A family has paid more than $6 million for a four-bedroom residence on level 15 of Coronation Property’s Archer & Albert in Chatswood, a price the developer says is understood to be the highest paid for an apartment in the suburb this year.
The home was created by combining a three-bedroom and a one-bedroom residence on the same floor, giving 188 square metres of internal space. According to Coronation’s release, the buyers are parents moving to Chatswood to live with their newly married son and his partner, who already live in the area. The price includes variations and modifications.
Why it matters
Coronation is both developer and builder on the 32-storey tower, which it says lets it change floorplans for buyers while construction is underway. The final layout was worked up with its in-house team and Woods Bagot, the project architect. Head of sales Cameron Porter described the result as giving the parents “a residence within a residence,” with their own privacy inside a shared home.
Coronation says sales feedback across the project points to strong demand for homes that suit more than one generation. Selling agent Eileen Zhang, senior director at SRM Residential, said buyers at the top of the Chatswood market are weighing convenience and security, including on-site concierge and building management, as heavily as space, with many downsizing from large houses with pools and gardens.
The numbers
Archer & Albert recorded $50 million in sales within the first two hours of its public launch, according to the developer. The project will deliver 150 residences across 32 levels, from one to four bedrooms plus two penthouses, over five basement parking levels. Remaining one-bedroom residences start from $1,205,000.
The site, with its display gallery at 57 Archer Street, sits a short walk from Chatswood Chase, Westfield and Chatswood Metro. Plans also include a landscaped public park, a pedestrian link between Archer and Bertram streets, a restored 1898 heritage home to open as a daytime café, and three ground-floor restaurants around a courtyard. Arcadia is the landscape architect.
What’s next
Completion is expected in the second half of 2028, Coronation says.
