Stimson Plumbing enters liquidation across 10 QBCC licence classes
Dalby QBCC trade contractor Stimson Plumbing Pty Ltd entered creditors' voluntary liquidation on 16 October 2026, with licences across ten trade classes.
Dalby plumbing contractor Stimson Plumbing Pty Ltd entered creditors’ voluntary liquidation on 16 October 2026, according to a notice published the same day on ASIC’s register. Members appointed Michael Dullaway and Mark Pearce of Pearce & Heers Insolvency Accountants as joint liquidators. The company holds Queensland Building and Construction Commission trade contractor licence 1150771 across ten separate classes, from plumbing and drainage and gasfitting to cabinet making and structural landscaping, so its reach is broader than a single trade.
Why it matters
The ASIC notice records the appointment under paragraph 491(2)(b) of the Corporations Act and regulation 5.5.01, filed as a creditors’ voluntary liquidation. That means members resolved to wind the company up and a liquidator now controls its assets, contracts and any claims against it. A builder or head contractor with an open job involving Stimson Plumbing, or still owed retention or defect work, now deals with a liquidator rather than the company’s own directors.
The exposure is wider than the company’s name suggests. Licence 1150771 covers plumbing and drainage, gasfitting, joinery, carpentry, cabinet making, metal fascias and gutters, roof and wall cladding, sheds, carports and garages, floor finishing and covering, and structural landscaping. A head contractor who engaged Stimson Plumbing for any of those ten trades, not only plumbing work, carries the same exposure.
QBCC lists the company in financial category 1, the register’s lowest reporting tier, set aside for contractors with the smallest allowable turnover. A licence at that tier fits a Dalby-based trade business rather than a large regional contractor.
The numbers
The notice was published on 16 October 2026 and records an appointment date of the same day. It names the appointment type as a creditors’ voluntary liquidation and cites paragraph 491(2)(b) and regulation 5.5.01 of the Corporations Regulations.
The notice names Michael Dullaway and Mark Pearce of Pearce & Heers as joint liquidators, appointed at a members’ meeting on 16 October. It discloses no creditor count and no debt or deficiency figure. Those details typically surface once a liquidator lodges a report to creditors or convenes a first meeting, which ASIC publishes separately when that happens.
The QBCC register, searched directly against the company’s ACN, confirms ten active trade contractor licence classes under licence number 1150771 and financial category 1. That is seven more classes than plumbing, gasfitting and joinery alone, the three most likely to be associated with the company’s name.
What’s next
Anyone owed money by, or holding an open contract with, Stimson Plumbing should expect a liquidator’s report to creditors in the weeks ahead, which ASIC will publish on the same notices register. Until then, any amount owed to the company is collectable only through the liquidator, and any amount the company owes becomes an unsecured claim in the winding up.
A head contractor with work open under any of the ten licensed trades should confirm who is on site now, document the state of the job, and ask the liquidator in writing whether work can continue or needs to be re-let. The same applies to any subcontractor Stimson Plumbing itself engaged.
This is the latest in a run of Queensland trade contractor liquidations this edition has tracked through October, following our earlier roundup of Queensland trades firms.
