Phase2 Plumbing, Joyner, enters creditors' voluntary liquidation
Phase2 Plumbing Pty Ltd, a QBCC gasfitting, plumbing and drainage licensee, entered creditors' voluntary liquidation on 20 October 2026.
Phase2 Plumbing Pty Ltd, a Queensland Building and Construction Commission licensee based in Joyner, entered creditors’ voluntary liquidation on 20 October 2026. Members resolved at a general meeting to wind up the company and appointed Desmond Byron, of Business Reset, as liquidator. The liquidator’s notice of appointment was published on the ASIC register on 21 October. The company, ACN 651 195 989, carries QBCC licensing across gasfitting, plumbing and drainage work. The notice does not disclose a creditor count, an amount owed, or any project the company was contracted to. Phase2 Plumbing is a trade contractor, not a developer or builder of record, and no site or head contractor is named in the record.
Why it matters
Plumbing, drainage and gasfitting rough-in work sits mid-program, after the frame goes up and before a site moves to lock-up and fitout. When a licensed subcontractor stops trading mid-job, the builder must find a replacement crew before later trades can start. That can push out a whole program, not just one task. Gasfitting is a separate QBCC licence class from plumbing and drainage. Any replacement contractor on a Phase2 Plumbing job needs the matching gasfitting licence, not just a plumbing licence. It follows QBCC piling licensee LTS Mining & Civil entering voluntary administration on 13 October 2026.
Creditors’ voluntary liquidation differs from voluntary administration in one practical respect that matters to anyone owed money by the company. It is initiated by the members themselves resolving to wind up, rather than a court order or a creditor’s petition, and it carries no trading-on period of the kind an administrator can authorise while assessing a rescue. A liquidator’s statutory role is to realise the company’s assets and distribute them to creditors in order of priority, not to continue the business or attempt to save it.
For any homeowner, builder or subcontractor with an unresolved invoice or defect claim against Phase2 Plumbing, that claim now sits as an unsecured claim against the company’s assets, ranking behind secured creditors and the liquidator’s own costs, rather than a debt the company will settle through ordinary trading.
The numbers
The ASIC notice is the only record, and it confirms the following. The company’s ACN is 651 195 989. The resolution to wind up the company was passed at a general meeting of members on 20 October 2026, with the notice itself published the following day, 21 October 2026. It is a notice of appointment as liquidator under paragraph 491(2)(b) of the Corporations Act and regulation 5.5.01. The notice does not disclose the number of creditors, the value of outstanding claims, staff numbers or any stalled project, so none of those figures appear here.
What’s next
Desmond Byron of Business Reset, contactable through the firm’s Peregian Beach office, now controls the winding-up. The liquidator’s standard obligations are to realise Phase2 Plumbing’s assets, investigate the circumstances of the company’s affairs, and report to creditors and ASIC. Any creditor, including a builder or homeowner with an unresolved claim arising from the company’s gasfitting, plumbing or drainage work, needs to lodge that claim with the liquidator rather than pursue the company directly. No site or head contractor currently reliant on Phase2 Plumbing’s QBCC licence is named in the public record, so the practical effect beyond the company itself is not yet established and this report will not speculate on one.
