Three NSW construction firms in court liquidation after orders
ASIC notices of 12 and 13 October record NSW Supreme Court winding-up orders for MKS Roofing, Braza Construction and J&C Projects, with liquidators appointed.
Three NSW construction businesses have been placed in court liquidation. ASIC notices published on 12 and 13 October record winding-up orders and liquidator appointments for MKS Roofing Service Group Pty Ltd, Braza Construction Pty Ltd and J&C Projects Pty Ltd. Anyone owed money by them now deals with a liquidator, not the company.
Why it matters
A winding-up order is made by a court. It ends the company’s ability to trade in the ordinary way and puts a court-appointed liquidator in charge of its assets and creditor claims. That differs from a company that has applied to be wound up but has not yet had an order made.
For a builder, certifier or developer, the practical point is who to contact. Unpaid subcontractors and suppliers to any of the three firms need to lodge claims through the liquidator named on each notice. Head contractors working with them should check their own contract and payment position.
The notices say what was ordered and who was appointed. They do not state the reason for each order, who applied, or what each company owes. This article does not draw conclusions about the cause.
This is separate from the winding-up applications still waiting for a hearing. Our report on four NSW builders and trades facing winding-up bids on 27 October covers companies where no order has yet been made. For wider context, see the Sydney hub.
The numbers
All three notices are headed “Notice of winding up order and appointment as liquidator/provisional liquidator”. Each records the Supreme Court of New South Wales as the court.
- MKS Roofing Service Group Pty Ltd (ACN 687 078 164): order and appointment dated 13 October 2026. The liquidator is Stephen John Michell of PCI Partners Pty Ltd, Level 9, 179 Queen Street, Melbourne.
- Braza Construction Pty Ltd (In Liquidation) (ACN 683 886 713): order and appointment dated 12 October 2026. The liquidator is Glenn Livingstone of WLP Restructuring, Level 19, 1-7 Castlereagh Street, Sydney.
- J&C Projects Pty Ltd (ACN 641 685 896), which lists the trading name Cart & Dispose: order and appointment dated 12 October 2026, notice dated 13 October. The joint liquidators are Andrew John Scott and Melissa Janet Mary Humann of Teneo, Suite 2, Level 20, 60 Castlereagh Street, Sydney.
That makes three companies, three liquidator firms and two order dates across the notices. The ASIC pages show a published date only, so the order dates above are the appointment dates given in each notice.
What’s next
Creditors should contact the liquidator firm named on the notice that applies to them. Each notice lists a contact person, phone number and email for the firm. Liquidators typically report to creditors and may call a meeting or invite proof of debt, but these notices do not set any such dates.
Developers and builders with open work involving these companies may want to confirm in writing which trades are on site and whether any security of payment claims are outstanding. We have not matched any of the three to a Building Commission NSW or other regulator action, and the notices do not suggest one.
We will report further ASIC steps as they are published, including any meetings of creditors or dividend notices for these companies.
