Construction has started on Bassar Group’s $180 million AVVA tower at 19-21 Anne Avenue, Broadbeach, with Hutchinson Builders as head contractor, Brisbane Development reported on 12 October 2026.

For Gold Coast subcontractors and trades, a 32-storey build with piling and excavation already finished means the structure and fit-out packages are the next to move.

Why it matters

The project is a developer move on the City of Gold Coast’s high-density Broadbeach strip. Bassar is again using the same builder and architect pairing, BDA Architecture, that it used on Infinity, a 40-storey Broadbeach tower completed in 2023, according to the report. That repeat team is a signal of how the developer procures.

Bassar has not yet launched sales. A formal launch is expected in Q1 2027, with Michael Kollosche named as exclusive sales agent. No per-residence prices have been published.

The numbers

  • Project value: $180 million.
  • Height: 32 storeys, or 33 levels including rooftop terraces, at about 105 metres.
  • Residences: 56 half-floor homes, two per level, each about 190 sqm. The top two have rooftop terraces.
  • Amenity level: about 700 sqm on level four, with a lap pool, gym, yoga deck and wellness area.
  • Parking: 107 spaces, made up of 100 resident and 7 visitor spaces, across two basement and two podium levels.
  • Site: 1,032 sqm in the high density residential zone, replacing a low-rise block of eight units.

Council approval for the multiple dwelling and short-term accommodation proposal, application MCU/2025/53, was recorded on 9 July 2025 as code assessable, per the same report.

What’s next

Hutchinson construction manager Gareth Hodgins said ground works are complete and the team is now focused on progressing construction. Completion is targeted for Q1 2029.
