AE Plumbing Pty Ltd was wound up by an order of the Supreme Court of New South Wales on 21 October 2026. ASIC’s published notice, dated 22 October 2026, names Andrew John Scott and Melissa Janet Mary Humann of Teneo as joint liquidators. For Sydney head contractors using the firm on live jobs, payment claims, variations and retention now run through Teneo’s office.

Why it matters

A court-ordered winding up under subsection 465A(2) of the Corporations Act is a different event to a director placing a company into voluntary administration. The order follows an application to the court, and it moves control of the company away from its directors from the date of the order.

For a plumbing subcontractor, that has an immediate effect on site. Contracts, retained security and plant pass to the liquidators from 21 October. Principals and head contractors should deal with Teneo on payment claims, variations and retention release, not with AE Plumbing’s own staff.

The order also resets the security chain on any live subcontract. Bank guarantees and retention held against AE Plumbing do not disappear, but any claim on them now runs through the liquidators. Defects and make-good obligations the subcontract expected AE Plumbing to meet fall back to the head contractor to manage or re-tender.

The same day’s ASIC register carried a separate winding-up order against I&D Civil Group Pty Ltd, an unrelated company, made by the Supreme Court of Victoria. Two orders on one date is what the record shows; this report draws no wider conclusion about the subcontractor market from it.

The numbers

The notice records AE Plumbing Pty Ltd under ACN 672 498 690 and ABN 84 672 498 690, with a status of “In Liquidation”. The appointment date is 21 October 2026, the date of the court order. The notice is dated 22 October 2026, one day later.

It is lodged under subsection 465A(2) and regulation 5.4.01B, the provisions covering a winding-up order and the appointment of a liquidator. The court is listed as the Supreme Court, New South Wales. The two joint appointees list their office at Suite 2, Level 20, 60 Castlereagh Street, Sydney.

The notice does not state a debt figure, a creditor count or the applicant, so none is reported here. It also does not name a project, a head contractor or a site. Readers should treat any debt total or project list attached to AE Plumbing elsewhere as unverified until the liquidators report to creditors or a court document states it.

What’s next

The liquidators now control AE Plumbing’s affairs and assets. Creditors, including subcontractors and suppliers owed money, should expect a call for proofs of debt. The notice does not set a creditors’ meeting date; when one is called, it will appear in a later notice on the same register.

Businesses engaging AE Plumbing on a live plumbing package should direct payment claims, variations and retention queries to Teneo, using the contact details on the ASIC notice. Those details are the only contact this report can confirm from the primary record, so other listings for the firm should be checked against them first.
